9.6.12 Alternative procedures It is worth noting for completeness that, in addition to that described above, there are a variety of alternative procedures that the court can be asked to adopt in patents proceedings, including: the Shorter Trials Scheme; the Flexible Trials Scheme; and a streamlined procedure. All of these variously remove certain aspects of the standard procedure, such as disclosure or cross-examination of all witnesses and experts, reducing the time to trial and the overall cost of proceedings.
